International funders will come together at this workshop to discuss how their agendas address the need for more SSH citizen science research. Effective research funding programs contribute to the diversity of citizen engagement within research to help solve societal challenges. Today’s pressing issues require well-rounded approaches, such as employing citizen science methodologies, and they benefit from incorporating a variety of disciplines and knowledge bases, including those found in the social sciences and humanities. By creating calls that specifically support the contributions that social sciences & humanities citizen science practices offer, funders push the frontiers of science to better serve society.
