OPERAS

We are pleased to announce PRIME – Progressing the Research Infrastructure towards Maturity & ERIC Status, a new project that marks a decisive step in the consolidation of OPERAS as a European Research Infrastructure Consortium (ERIC).

Starting in the second half of 2026, ORE will enter a new pilot phase, operated by the European Organisation for Nuclear Research (CERN) and will be co-financed by a consortium of research funding and performing organisations, along with the European Commission. As part of this new phase, OPERAS Research Infrastructure will work in partnership with the ORE consortium to strengthen outreach and community engagement across Europe. OPERAS will contribute its expertise in multilingual, inclusive, and community-driven scholarly communication to help ensure that eligible researchers and institutions are aware of and able to benefit from the platform.

AEGIS-OA (Activate European Guidance and Incentives for Sustainable Open Access publishing), a new EU-funded project under the Horizon Europe research and innovation programme, officially kicked off on 19-20 March 2026 in Brussels. The project aims to strengthen a transparent, sustainable, and high-quality open access scholarly publishing ecosystem in Europe by building on and expanding the services of the European Diamond Capacity Hub (EDCH), a program hosted by OPERAS.
